Carved Elephants Initiative
Could there be any more closer connection than elephants to Tuscaloosa?
Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International is excited to announce a unique and meaningful initiative that connects our community to our sister cities in Ghana. In collaboration with artisans from Sunyani and Techiman, we are bringing hand-carved elephants—each a beautiful, one-of-a-kind work of art—directly to Tuscaloosa. These intricate carvings are crafted by talented local artisans in Ghana, and every piece tells a story of craftsmanship, tradition, and cultural heritage.
The elephants will be available for donation in Tuscaloosa, with all proceeds directly supporting the artists and communities of Sunyani and Techiman. Your contribution not only allows you to own a beautiful piece of art, but it also provides vital support to these communities, helping to fund educational programs, infrastructure projects, and other initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the people in these regions.
Each hand-carved elephant is a symbol of our growing international connection, bridging the gap between Tuscaloosa and our Ghanaian sister cities. This initiative reflects the spirit of mutual support and collaboration that Tuscaloosa Sister Cities International fosters. By participating, you are not only bringing home a stunning piece of craftsmanship, but you are also making a direct impact on the lives of those in Sunyani and Techiman.
We invite you to join us in this special effort to give back while celebrating the art and culture of Ghana. Your donation will have a lasting, positive effect on the communities that have welcomed Tuscaloosa as a global partner.
