Sister Cities International is a national network of municipalities that aims to promote peace and mutual understanding through city-to-city partnerships. In addition, TSCI is proud to work closely with the Japan-America Society of Alabama, Alabama Germany Partnership, and the University of Alabama Capstone International Center.


Sister Cities International (SCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering peace and understanding through citizen diplomacy and global partnerships. Founded in 1956 by President Eisenhower, SCI serves as a network for cities across the United States and around the world to form "sister city" relationships that promote cultural exchange, educational programs, and collaborative efforts in areas such as business, technology, and the arts. By facilitating these connections, SCI helps build strong, enduring bonds between communities of different cultures and backgrounds, fostering mutual respect and cooperation. The organization empowers local leaders, citizens, and organizations to engage in meaningful exchanges that enhance cross-cultural understanding and contribute to solving global challenges. The Japan-America Society of Alabama (JASA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering mutual understanding, friendship, and collaboration between the people of Japan and Alabama.
